Splashbacks

Order a Fused Glass Splashback

A handmade fused glass splashback can put the finishing touch to your new kitchen, creating a stunning focal point.

An Off The Wall Glass splashback offers unique contemporary design which is easy to clean and bespoke textured multifired elements make every splashback a unique piece of functional art. Every splashback is hand crafted by Ali Gibson at her studio in Penryn. Cornwall.

When combined with good lighting the splashback can also be lit at night to create a different ambience. Getting the lighting right at the planning stage is an important point to consider as spotlights and under cabinet led lighting are a worthwhile investment.

Remember that your splashback design can be extended into matching upstands and continued around the kitchen, and to complete your kitchen design matching dishes, charger plates and coasters will bring a cohesive feel to the whole room.

Off The Wall Glass offer several standard splashback designs see the menu in the widget area but if you want to commission a completely new bespoke design please contact me with your ideas, colour scheme and room photos

Technical Information

If you have a gas hob installed the splashback will need to sit on top of a 10cm upstand which is usually in the same material as the worktop. For induction hobs the splashback can extend right down to the worktop. The glass is not toughened but is between 6-8mm thick and certainly robust enough for its purpose.

Fixing

To ensure a perfect finish, especially with transparent glass designs, fixing should preferably be done by a professional tiler. If you do wish to tackle this yourself I can supply you with the details of the best adhesive used by my own professional tiler when your splashback is delivered. For the “Pebble Stack” opaque glass designs a good quality silicone adhesive can be used and is an easier option for the amateur. No responsibility is accepted by Off The Wall Glass for errors or breakages made whilst fixing as splashbacks are made on a supply only basis but if you live in Cornwall I can recommend an excellent professional tiler who will take the worry out of the job.

Measuring

Please supply the exact measurements of your required splashback ensuring that you measure width and height in several places and where there is a difference provide the lowest measurement. When cutting I will ensure that there is a tolerance to allow for easy fixing. Although I have offered my range of splashbacks in exact sizes it is highly likely that your sizing will be different so please contact me if you have different requirements.
Cleaning

Easy to clean with warm soapy water and a soft dry cloth to polish, just remember not to use any harsh abrasive cleaners as this may scratch the surface. Never pour boiling water directly onto the surface.
